Telangana Film Chamber Raises Concerns Over New Ticket Prices
The Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce has asked the government to review the new cinema ticket rates under G.O.Ms.No.77.
The Chamber is concerned that the revised prices and new theatre classification could affect single screen theatres especially those in smaller towns and semi-urban areas.
Under the new rules, non AC theatres can charge up to Rs 100 while AC theatres can charge up to Rs 200. Special theatres and multiplexes can charge up to Rs 300.
The Chamber has requested the government to consult producers, distributors and exhibitors before taking further decisions for sure.
It has also urged the government to hold a stakeholder meeting soon to protect single screen theatres and their sustainability.
